 HIV in Europe National Rapporteurs

Introduction

In order to keep up the momentum around earlier diagnosis and care of HIV in Europe, the HIV in Europe Steering Committee is establishing a group of 'national rapporteurs', with the aim of updating each other and others on developments on national level in relation to national testing guidelines and/or other political and local initiatives on testing and earlier care. The intention is to gather information on this site with the aim of further strenghtening knowledge sharing and stimulate cross country discussions around the issue.

 Third of HIV diagnoses in UK still occurring late

A third of new HIV diagnoses in the UK in 2008 were made so late that the individuals had a significant risk of developing an AIDS-defining illness, new figures from the Health Protection Agency show.
