Joint Action on integrating prevention, testing and link to care strategies across HIV, viral hepatitis, TB and STIs in Europe - INTEGRATE

INTEGRATE is funded by the 3rd EU Health Programme and will run over three years (September 2017-August 2020). The budget is 2,5 Million EUR with an 80% co-funding  from the EU. 29 partners have been nominated by their Ministry of Health, representing the 15 EU Member States: Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, UK and Serbia.

Partners are Public Health institutions, Hospitals (infectious disease and research departments), NGOs and Universities. Further currently 21 collaborating partners have expressed interest in participating in the joint action at their own expense.

The main objective of INTEGRATE is to integrate early diagnosis and linkage to prevention and care of HIV, viral hepatitis, TB and STIs in EU member states by 2020. INTEGRATE will focus on how effective tools for diagnosis and linkage to care in one disease area can be used in others. This will be done through review of existing tools followed by adaption and piloting of the tools in other disease areas. Further, INTEGRATE will focus on capacity building and knowledge sharing among the partners and central to the work will be a focus on identification of best practices in testing and linkage to care and efforts to improve sustainability at the national level through policy development.

INTEGRATE  is building on activities from OptTEST, HIV in Europe and other relevant EU projects and EU institutions working with HIV, Hepatitis, TB and STIs testing and linkage to care.

INTEGRATE will be launched in connecting with the closing conference of the two EU Projects OptTEST and EURO HIV EDAT. The launch will be 19 September 2017 from 15:00-18:00 at the Thon Hotel City in Brussels and the EU commissioner for Health and Food Mr. Vytenis Andriukaitis has confirmed his participation. As part of the launch there will be a Panel Discussion om moving towards integration of HIV, viral Hepatitis, TB and STIs moderated by Professor Jens Lundgren from CHIP and Luis Mendão from GAT with participation from  DGSante, WHO, ECDC and other key experts. See preliminary agenda here.

Participation in final conference of OptTEST and Euro HIV EDAT and launch of INTEGRATE is free, but space is limited. If interested please register online at: http://www.opttest.eu/submitform
